POSITION DESCRIPTION: Accounting Specialist/Bookkeeper

REPORTS TO: Controller
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Accounting Specialist supports accounting operations by managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, account reconciliations, month end close processes, and accounting support for on-site retail and F&B outlets. This position ensures accurate financial records, timely processing of financial transactions, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all required supporting documentation and approvals are obtained.
- Maintain vendor records and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Respond to vendor inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding items.
Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and distribute member invoices/statements.
- Apply customer payments and maintain accurate account balances.
- Monitor outstanding receivables.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies and member inquiries.
- Reconcile accounts receivable balances.
Accounting
- Prepare and post assigned journal entries.
- Preform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end close.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Support accounting functions for on-site retail and F&B operations including daily sales reconciliation and cash balancing.
- Preform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise correspondence and reports.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
- Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks Desktop experience is a plus.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
