Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Boat Captain with a 25 ton master captain's license to operate boat tours around the Cocoa Beach area on a 45 foot pontoon boat with a 36 passenger capacity.
Duties
- Safely operate and navigate the pontoon, ensuring timely and secure transportation of passengers.
- Implement maritime safety procedures in accordance with US Coast Guard (USCG) regulations and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with team members on maritime crew communication, ensuring clear instructions during vessel operations and emergency situations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant water transportation industry regulations and maritime piloting standards.
- Setup and breakdown of daily operations of the tour boat
Skills
- Extensive experience in water transportation industry operations with a strong understanding of vessel management and boat handling techniques.
- Proficiency in marine navigation systems and maritime navigation principles for safe vessel maneuvering.
- Knowledge of US Coast Guard (USCG) regulations governing vessel operation, safety standards, and crew certification requirements.
- Proven ability to manage teams effectively as a ship supervisor or captain, including crew management and maritime crew communication skills.
- Strong understanding of maritime safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and manual handling practices for rigging.
