OVERVIEW:
A reputable company with a strong presence in the manufacturing industry and a positive work environment is seeking a Production Engineer for a facility located in Union City, GA, which is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The company has recently made significant investments in new equipment. The successful candidate will report to the Production Engineering Manager and be responsible for designing and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create production tooling designs using 2D & 3D software such as SolidWorks.
- Implement enhancements to boost productivity on existing production lines.
- Conduct root cause analysis of failures using statistical methods and suggest improvements in designs, tolerances, or processes.
- Develop and introduce production processes for new products and updates to existing products.
- Perform FMEA’s on new and existing products related to designs, materials, or processes.
- Review product designs to ensure manufacturability and efficiency.
- Collaborate in cross functional teams to optimize productivity methods.
- Utilize design of experiments, lean manufacturing, and other techniques to enhance operations.
- Participate in design review meetings for new and existing products.
- Create work instructions, spare parts inventories, and other relevant documentation.
- Implement automation technologies such as robotics, vision systems, and controls integration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software (particularly SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with tooling and project management.
- Knowledge of automation technologies including robotics and PLCs.
- Background in heavy manufacturing as a manufacturing engineer.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and authorization to work in the USA without sponsorship.
