Job Summary
Singapore Room in Saugatuck is seeking an energetic and personable Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests from the moment they arrive. As the first point of contact, you will manage reservations, coordinate seating, take carry out orders, and ensure smooth guest flow throughout the restaurant. Your enthusiasm and excellent communication skills will set the tone for an exceptional dining experience, making guests feel valued and appreciated. This paid position offers a dynamic environment where hospitality and guest relations are at the forefront of your role. This position pays $17/hr. + a server tip out, which can equate to as much as $34/hr.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage restaurant reservations using our table management systems, ensuring accurate booking and seating arrangements
- Coordinate with the service team to optimize table turnover and guest flow efficiently
- Answer incoming phone calls with courtesy, providing information about wait times, reservations, or menu inquiries
- Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times clearly to guests
- Assist with guest inquiries, special requests, and seating preferences to enhance their experience
Experience
- Prior experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, wait times, and table counts accurately
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and restaurant operations is a plus
