The Certified Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting healthcare providers through the execution of both clinical and administrative responsibilities. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care while promoting efficient daily operations and a seamless patient experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain accurate patient records and update EHR systems
- Assist with prior authorizations, medication refill requests, and coordination of care as needed
- Room patients for both in-person and telemedicine visits
- Provide patient education, instructions, and post-visit guidance
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and minor procedures
- Prepare and sanitize examination rooms, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
- Collect and document patient history and vital signs accurately
- Perform clinical tasks including specimen collection, injections, EKGs, and other duties within scope

Assist with chart preparation, documentation, and coordination
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors
- Maintain and restock office and medical supplies as necessary
- Monitor Microsoft Teams and Athena chats and respond timely
- Other duties as assigned

High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant diploma required.

Medical Assistant Certification required within one (1) year of employment.

Proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Experience with Athenahealth is highly preferred.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused, team-oriented environment.

Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Reliable transportation is required, as occasional travel to other clinic locations may be necessary based on business and operational needs.
