Job Description:
We are seeking for a motivated and results-driven Human Resources Business Partner to support the human resources aspect and recruitment/onboarding of qualified professional drivers and transportation professionals. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company hiring requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for company drivers, owner-operators, warehouse employees, mechanics, dispatchers, and office staff.
- Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
- Conduct phone and in-person interviews.
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Adhereing to Human Resources protocols when extending employment offers and negotiate compensation within company guidelines.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates.
- Recruit qualified CDL Class A drivers in accordance with company hiring standards.
- Verify employment history and driving experience.
- Coordinate background checks, drug and alcohol testing, and motor vehicle record (MVR) reviews.
- Ensure applicants meet company safety and insurance requirements.
- Communicate company policies, benefits, compensation, and expectations throughout the hiring process.
- Maintain compliance with US state regulations for both transportation and employment laws (NJ and LA)
- Maintain accurate applicant tracking records.
- Ensure confidentiality of employee and applicant information.
- Coordinate pre-employment requirements.
- Schedule and prepare orientation and onboarding for new hires.
- Assist employees with any HR related questions and benefits enrollment.
- Partner with operations and safety teams to facilitate a smooth onboarding experience.
- Maintain HR, recruitment metrics and reports.
- Assist with HR projects and policy implementation.
- Perform other HR and Recruitment duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of recruiting and human resources experience.
- Experience recruiting CDL drivers or transportation personnel (preferred).
- Experience in trucking, logistics, warehousing, or supply chain industries is an asset.
- Knowledge in DOT hiring requirements as well as US state employment laws and regulations for (NJ and California)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple job openings in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, dependable, and customer-service oriented.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle HR related sensitive information
