Manufacturing Setup Technician – RF Sealing
The Manufacturing Setup Technician – RF Sealing is responsible for setting up, supporting, and troubleshooting RF (radio frequency) sealing equipment used in the manufacturing of inflatable textile products. This hands-on role helps ensure machines are properly set up, tooling is organized and maintained, production runs efficiently, and finished products meet quality standards.
We are looking for a mechanically inclined and organized individual who can support daily production needs, maintain accurate setup records, assist with minor repairs and adjustments, and serve as a reliable resource for machine owners/operators in the RF sealing area. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up or troubleshooting manufacturing equipment in environments such as packaging, plastics, heat sealing, textile manufacturing, or general production.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Set up RF sealing equipment for production runs, including tooling, materials, machine settings, and process parameters.
· Install, align, adjust, and maintain RF tooling, fixtures, and machine components.
· Review production schedules and prepare machines, tooling, and setup materials for upcoming jobs.
· Monitor machine performance during production and make adjustments to support consistent seal quality, alignment, and cycle consistency.
· Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and process issues related to seal quality, production flow, scrap, and product quality.
· Perform first-piece verification and in-process quality checks in accordance with production and quality requirements.
· Maintain accurate setup records, machine parameters, tooling notes, and documentation for repeat production runs.
· Organize and maintain RF tooling, fixtures, setup materials, and related equipment to support production readiness.
· Perform minor mechanical adjustments and basic repairs as needed; communicate larger repair needs to Maintenance or Production leadership.
· Support preventative maintenance activities on RF sealing equipment.
· Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to support new product builds, process improvements, and production issue resolution.
· Train and support machine owners/operators on proper machine use, setup verification, quality expectations, and acceptable product standards.
· Communicate setup changes, equipment concerns, quality issues, and process updates to the appropriate team members.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
· Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has some supervisory responsibility in the form of day-to-day guidance, training, and support for machine owners/operators in the RF sealing area. This position does not have direct reports.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout the production area during the workday.
Must be able to safely use hand tools and work around manufacturing equipment.
Must be able to handle tooling, fixtures, materials, and machine components as required for setup and production support.
Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED required.
· 2–3+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment setup, machine operation, maintenance support, or troubleshooting.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools, fixtures, tooling, and production equipment.
· Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, specifications, and setup documentation.
· Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify issues and make practical adjustments.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to accurately document setup parameters, process changes, and equipment concerns.
· Ability to communicate effectively with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
· Experience with RF sealing, heat sealing, thermal bonding, plastics, packaging equipment, textile manufacturing, or similar production processes is preferred but not required.
