Position Summary: The Fruit Processing Operator is responsible for performing all entry level tasks in the fruit processing department.
Shift: Back End Days- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday 4:45 PM to 5:15 AM
Essential Functions:
· Responsible for the manufacturing of products and ensuring that safety and quality standards are consistently met.
· Follows instructions given by the LOD and Processing Manager
· Monitors material levels, can locate staged materials and retrieve materials.
· Ability to perform sanitation duties related to the fruit process.
· Ability to start-up, shut-down, and CIP most equipment in fruit processing area.
· Maintains a safe and clean environment for all employees and visitors. Ensures all safety rules, plant rules, GMP, and code of ethics are followed by employees, customers, and visitors at all times.
· Knows when to use the right kind of PPE.
· Ability to successfully weigh out ingredients for all recipes prior to manufacturing.
· Attends required pre shift meetings. Can clearly communicate issues with fruit processing to other operators and shifts.
· Maintains a clean environment during the assigned shift. Knowledge of all daily and weekly sanitation duties.
· Able to make fruit batches as directed by the supervisor.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
· Ability to use electric pallet jack.
· Knowledge of the Sovos guiding principles.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

· Ability to follow instructions and learn the fruit making process.
· Must possess a strong work ethic and have initiative.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills.
· Knows all safety, quality, and Company practices and policies.
· Understanding of basic math.
· Ability to comfortably use Microsoft Office as well as navigate company specific software.
Education and Experience:
· Required – High school diploma or equivalent.
· Preferred – 1 Year of manufacturing experience.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; climb or balance; and talk or hear.
· The employee will frequently be required reach with hands, arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
· The employee will need to taste and smell the products to assure quality.
· Frequently the employee will be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
· The noise level in the work environment is loud due to the production equipment, and hearing protection is required.
· The production area’s temperature can fluctuate. Conditions can be cold and wet at times, or hot and humid.
· Prolonged periods of standing.

Pay: $20.50 - $21.50 per hour
