Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Inpatient Case Manager to provide comprehensive mental health services within a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical crisis management, crisis intervention, and behavioral health, with experience working with diverse populations. This role offers an opportunity to deliver evidence-based care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support patients through various stages of treatment. The Inpatient Case Manager will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and professional manner.
Duties
- Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments utilizing clinical documentation standards and medical terminology.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with best practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused group therapy, and evidence-based approaches.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to address mental health concerns, including PTSD, grief, addiction, and developmental disabilities.
- Engage in crisis management and intervention to ensure patient safety during acute episodes or behavioral crises.
- Document patient progress accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including social workers, psychiatrists, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions when appropriate to expand access to services for diverse populations.
- Support research initiatives by collecting data on treatment outcomes and contributing to quality improvement efforts in behavioral health services.
Skills
- Extensive experience in clinical counseling with proficiency in psychotherapy modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and art or dance therapy.
- Strong background in crisis intervention techniques and behavior management strategies across inpatient settings.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems..
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities, and those with co-occurring disorders.
- Skilled in conducting mental health assessments for diverse populations including mental health, substance abuse, and individuals facing gender issues.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation standards, medical records management, and medical terminology relevant to mental health care.
- Experience utilizing telehealth platforms for remote patient care delivery while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Familiarity with ICD coding practices (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and data collection for clinical research projects.
