Deli Manager Position
Location: Gitto Farmer's Market
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Deli Manager to lead our deli department and deliver high-quality food, excellent customer service, and efficient daily operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of deli management or deli supervisory experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of deli experience (required)
- Previous deli management or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, food safety, and sanitation regulations
- Experience managing inventory, ordering, and minimizing waste
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the deli department
- Supervise, train, and schedule deli associates
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of deli foods according to company standards
- Ensure all food is fresh, properly labeled, and displayed attractively
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Monitor inventory levels and place product orders as needed
- Control food costs, reduce waste, and maintain department profitability
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally
- Ensure all equipment is clean, maintained, and operating properly
- Work closely with store management to achieve sales and department goals
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a high-volume supermarket deli
- Knowledge of Caribbean, West Indian, or international deli products is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish ) is a plus
