We are professional, agile and our goal is to The Waterfront Seafood Market is a family-owned seafood restaurant and market in Ankeny, Iowa. The original West Des Moines Waterfront was started by Ted and Shawn Hanke in 1984. It is now owned and operated by his kids; Shawn Hanke Sr, Jennifer Haus, and Blake Hanke. The Ankeny location was opened in 2008 by Shawn and Jennifer bringing the northeast suburbs the finest quality fish and seafood available anywhere in the Midwest. Inside our Ankeny location, you’ll find an oyster bar, sushi bar, casual restaurant, and seafood market.
**Overview:**
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Server/Bartender to join our team at our restaurant. You will play a vital role in providing exceptional hospitality to our guests. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver outstanding food and beverage service in a fast-paced environment. **Duties:**
- Greet guests promptly and ensure they feel welcome and comfortable throughout their dining experience.
- Take orders accurately and efficiently using Toast POS.
- Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely and courteous manner.
- Provide guests with menu recommendations and answer questions about the restaurant's offerings.
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area by clearing tables and ensuring the floor is free of debris.
- Manage cash and credit transactions with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Upsell and recommend special promotions and menu items to increase sales.
- Follow all food safety and handling procedures to ensure the highest level of quality and sanitation.
- Provide excellent guest relations by addressing concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen staff to ensure orders are fulfilled promptly and correctly.
**Experience:**
- Previous experience in the hospitality or food service industry is highly preferred.
- Prior experience with cash handling.
- Experience with POS systems.
- Knowledge of basic math is necessary to accurately manage cash transactions.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and food safety regulations is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances is essential.
- Excellent communication and guest relations skills are required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is necessary.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $4.35 - $8.00 per hour
