Young Musicians Unite (YMU) is on a mission to provide free, high-quality music education to every student in Miami-Dade, regardless of socio-economic background. We collaborate with schools to inspire personal development, foster community, and prepare future leaders through in-school and after-school music programs. Our unique approach focuses on building a comprehensive music education pathway for 5th–12th grade students, with a strong emphasis on Title I schools.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Regional Programs Manager to lead and oversee the execution of Young Musicians Unite’s music education programs across an assigned region in Miami-Dade County. This role is central to ensuring that our in-school and after-school programs are delivered with consistency, quality, and impact.
The Regional Manager serves as the primary operational leader in the field, responsible for managing school partnerships, supporting Teacher Artists, and ensuring that programs run smoothly across multiple sites. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep commitment to education, community, and the transformative power of music.
As a key member of the Programs team, you will coordinate across schools, teachers, and internal departments to maintain high standards of program delivery, proactively solve challenges, and support student engagement and growth. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a strong focus on accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.

Position Purpose
The Regional Manager is responsible for the successful execution, quality, and growth of Young Musicians Unite’s in-school and after-school music programs across an assigned geographic region.
This role serves as the primary operational leader in the field, ensuring:
- Strong school partnerships High-quality teaching and learning environments. Smooth logistics and communications. Accurate data, rosters, and inventory. Direct support to Teacher Artists, students, and families.
The Regional Manager is a key connector between schools, teachers, families, and YMU leadership, ensuring that programs run with excellence, consistency, and impact.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Chief Programs Officer
Works closely with: Academic Manager / Data Manager, Afterschool & Talent Coordinators, Shows & Events Team, Operations & Inventory Support.
Leads and supports:
Teacher Artists within assigned region
School relationships and daily program operations

Core Responsibilities (Organized by Function)
1. School & Partnership Management
- Serve as primary relationship manager for principals, APs, counselors, and school staff. Conduct regular school visits to monitor program quality and needs. Coordinate schedules, space usage, and logistics with schools. Identify challenges early and implement solutions. Maintain strong communication with partner organizations.
2. Teacher Artist Support & Oversight
- Serve as main point of contact for Teacher Artists in region. Support classroom management, scheduling, and instructional needs. Conduct regular check-ins and informal performance reviews. Ensure teachers follow YMU curriculum, policies, and expectations. Flag concerns and support improvement plans when needed.
3. Program Operations & Student Management
- Create, maintain, and update student rosters. Track enrollment, attendance, and participation. Maintain accurate contact lists for students, parents, and schools Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of students. Assist with transitions between in-school and after-school pathways.
4. Instruments, Inventory & Logistics
- Oversee instrument distribution days in region. Track inventory assigned to schools and students. Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and replacements. Transport instruments and equipment as neededMaintain accurate inventory records
5. Communication & Reporting
- Gather feedback from schools, teachers, and families. Report program status, challenges, and progress to Programs Leadership. Contribute to data collection for dashboards, grants, and impact reports. Document issues, solutions, and growth opportunities
6. Events & Community Engagement
- Support concerts, showcases, masterclasses, and festivals in region. Coordinate with schools and families for participation Assist Shows Department with logistics and student readiness Represent YMU professionally at community events
Qualifications & ExperienceCandidate Profile
- Passionate about equity and access in music education.
- A strong program designer with experience managing multi-site educational or arts-based programs.
- Skilled at building student leadership and community engagement pathways.
- A natural connector and collaboration across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Highly organized and capable of scaling programs while ensuring quality and alignment.
- Comfortable working in diverse educational environments, especially with Title I schools.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in program management, music education, youth development, or arts education leadership.
- Strong background in managing leadership and mentoring programs.
- Proven ability to design and scale afterschool or extracurricular programs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Ability to travel across Miami-Dade as needed.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or Haitian Creole) a plus but not required.
Preferred
- Background in music education or arts programming
- Experience working with public schools and diverse communities

Physical & Travel Requirements
- Frequent travel between schools in assigned region. Ability to transport instruments and equipment (up to 50 lbs). Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicles must. Occasional use of YMU vans for large deliveries.
