Civil Carpenter:
The civil carpenter is responsible for constructing, erecting, repairing, and dismantling built-in-place or prefabricated forms for concrete structures or foundations, pouring and finishing of concrete, in a safe and quality manner.
Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrates good work practices through compliance and support for all site safety and health rules and guidelines.

Reviews construction drawings, sketches, building plans, and specifications for information pertaining to requirements and dimensions.

Measures, marks, and arrange materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.

Cuts and shape wood, concrete, and other construction materials using hand and power tools.

Assemble, install, maintain, and repair structures, including concrete forms, frameworks and other components of heavy civil infrastructure.

Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple or adhesive.

Ensures accuracy or work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares, and corrects problems as needed.

Create wooden forms for pouring concrete or for tunnels, bridges, building foundations, sewer construction projects or large industrial structures.

May spread, level, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel or screed and float.

Knowledge of construction terminology.

Basic rigging knowledge.

Maintains a clean and orderly work environment and maintains job site housekeeping.

Performs other related duties as assigned by their supervisors.
Requirements:
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Candidate must possess an OSHA 10 certification or be willing to obtain it.

Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.

Ability to properly use and care for tools of the trade.

Thorough understanding of civil carpenter principles and methods.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-
Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand -eye coordination.

Successful candidates must complete a drug screening and background check prior to employment.
