POSITION DESCRIPTION: The role of the Purchasing Manager is to be responsible for all RAF purchasing functions, establish and maintain significant vendor relationships and ensure sales tax compliance in all jurisdictions on all RAF purchases.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise and manage all purchasing department employees
- Establish and maintain significant vendor relationships
- Investigate new products and services that will provide benefit to RAF
- Work closely with plant personnel to understand problem areas and propose solutions
- Review all RAF purchases for sales tax compliance
- Stay current on all state sales tax legislation and required filings
- Develop and manage the bid process and RFQ documentation for all RAF bids
- Help facilitate vendor agreements and contracts
- Analyze supply chain performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability to ensure proper operational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent Purchasing experience
- Three (3) to five (5) years of Purchasing experience preferred
- Proficient in Oracle Purchasing Module
- Strong supervisory skills with good internal communication
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must be flexible in order to respond to issues as they arise and propose solutions
- Microsoft Office computer skills
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Strong understanding of sales tax compliance in all states where RAF operates
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.
- Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.
- Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.
- Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
