Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Tap and Musical Theatre Teacher to inspire students of all ages in the vibrant world of dance, theatre, and performance arts. Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare comprehensive lesson plans that integrate tap dance, musical theatre choreography, and performance techniques suitable for various skill levels.
- Teach visual and performing arts with a focus on dance, theatre, and choreography to children, teens, and adults in group or individual settings.
- Lead engaging classes that promote proper technique, stage presence, and artistic expression while ensuring safety and proper warm-up routines.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and collaboration.
- Prepare students for performances by choreographing routines, rehearsing scenes, and providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
- Responsible for cutting music to fit the standard time
- Measure students and select costumes for performance routines
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and curriculum development to support ongoing growth and program quality.
- Work rehearsals and show weeks
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching visual & performing arts, especially in tap dance, musical theatre, or related disciplines.
- Strong background in choreography, stage performance, and classroom management with a focus on working with children or youth programs.
- Knowledge of curriculum development tailored to creative arts instruction across different age groups.
- Excellent communication skills for lesson planning, private lessons, and engaging with students of all ages.
- Ability to foster a supportive environment that promotes childhood development and positive behavior management practices.
- Certification is preferred but not required.
- Working hands on with students and other staff members during studio mandated rehearsals and shows
- Provide fingerprinting and background check; paid for by SAJ Studios
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
