POSITION FUNCTION/OVERVIEW:
The primary purpose of this position is to schedule, supervise, direct and coach Mental Health Technicians to work with clients in a therapeutic setting and maintain a safe environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote the mission, values and vision of Hibiscus Children’s Center

Develop work schedule and maintain adequate direct care employee coverage to ensure compliance regarding client to staff ratio. Review shift activity schedule for any changes and/or additions
- Supervise Mental Health Technicians assigning Technicians to work with clients on treatment plan goals or other activities
- Provide feedback (verbal and/or written) to Technicians regarding good performance and correcting poor performance

Maintain a visible presence and accessibility during the shift to clients and employees

Assigns specific duties to Technicians and follow up to ensure work is completed

Schedule activities for clients
- Make transportation arrangements, as needed

Admit new clients completing all necessary paperwork and introducing clients to employees and other residents

Review, maintain and updates the daily logbook with pertinent client information.

Ensure medical directives are followed and documented as coordinated with the Medical Dispenser or Nurse

Documents and recommends solutions regarding staffing concerns, behavioral problems and/or shift difficulties. Contacts Village Program(s) Director regarding specific or non-routine incidents, when appropriate

Performs walk-through prior to the start of shift and communicates concerns with previous shift supervisor

Conducts a shift change meeting with assigned staff to address concerns.
- Provides direction and guidance to volunteers

Communicates and documents all necessary information related to clients and forwards information to client’s therapist

Ensures that the Village is clean and organized throughout the course of their shift

Ensures that all reports are correct, complete and turned-in signed at the end of the shift.

Completes probationary and annual evaluations on time

Responsible for dispensing meds to clients when nurse is not available

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Associates Degree preferred, High School Diploma Required

DJJ or Criminal Justice experience preferred

Two (2) years supervisory experience

Minimum three (3 years experience with at risk children/teens

Certification in CPR, First Aid
-
At least 23 years of age
- Ability to lift 40 lbs

Ability to work outdoors

Ability to work shifts

Must pass level 2 background clearance and drug test

REQUIREMENTS:

Complete 40 hours of training annually
-
Successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Interventions (TCI) and all annual refreshers

Successfully complete Sanctuary Model Training and annual refreshers
-
Successfully complete 24 hours of Human Trafficking Training and annual refreshers
