Zukku is a thriving fast-casual sushi restaurant. We are passionate about creating masterpieces with quality fresh ingredients along with providing a memorable dining experience. We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Cook to join our kitchen team.
Job Description:
As a line cook at Zukku, line cooks prepare and serve appetizers and various ingredients for use in our dishes, cook and wash rice at high volumes using an industrial rice cooker and assist with the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen.
Responsibilities:
Assist with food preparation, including chopping, cutting, and measuring ingredients.
Wash, cook and cool large portions of rice using safety and sanitation protocols.
Assist in food prep and assembly to meet high-demand periods.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workstation, including proper handling of equipment and utensils.
Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients used in all food preparations using rotation methods.
Assist with washing dishes and sanitizing kitchen equipment.
Help with removing and disposing trash cans as needed.
Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and management.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a line cook is preferred but not required, we are willing to train the right candidate.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with accuracy.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt to our restaurant's specific menu and cooking methods.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Rate: $14-16/hr + tip pool
