Overview
We are a locally-owned pet grooming and retail shop in Richmond Hill. Our team is small, our clients are loyal, and the bar for customer experience is high. We're growing, and we invest in the people who grow with us.
The Role
This position has two main functions: you book and update the schedule for our grooming team and are the primary point of contact on the retail floor. You need to be organized, personable, and comfortable in a busy environment. If you take pride in running things smoothly and want to be somewhere your work is noticed, you may be a good fit!
What You'll Do
- Greet clients with warmth, manage check-ins and check-outs, and handle issues with professionalism
- Manage grooming appointments and keep the schedule coordinated with our grooming staff
- Guide customers through product and service questions and make thoughtful recommendations
- Process cash and card transactions accurately
- Aid grooming professionals in keeping client records updated including pet details, preferences, and handling notes
- Keep the front area and retail floor clean, stocked, and presentable
- Assist with pets as needed, including handling dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
What We're Looking For
- Prior customer-facing experience is required — retail, hospitality, veterinary, or similar
- Comfortable handling dogs (cats is a plus!) confidently and calmly
- Organized and able to manage multiple things at once without losing track
- Reliable and communicates proactively
- Some weekend availability required; schedule is otherwise fairly flexible
- Genuine interest in animals and pet care
To Apply
Apply through Indeed. In your cover letter/note, briefly describe a time you handled a difficult customer interaction and what you did. Applications without this will be reviewed last.
