Part-Time Internship / Flexible Hours
We are looking for a hands-on intern to help with the assembly and production of a small 3D-printed machine.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in 3D printing, product development, small manufacturing, engineering, electronics, or startup work.
Responsibilities
The intern will help with:
- 3D printing parts
- Calibrating and manning 3d printers Bambu and Elegoo
- Removing supports and cleaning printed parts
- Checking print quality and identifying failed prints
- Organizing printed parts, hardware, tubing, wiring, and supplies
- Assembling machine components
- Installing tubing, motors, lights, panels, and small hardware
- Helping prepare machines for testing
- Following written assembly instructions
- Taking notes on assembly problems or possible improvements
- Keeping the workspace clean and organized
Helpful Skills
No professional experience is required, but the ideal candidate is:
- Comfortable working with their hands
- Has had some 3d printing experience
- Careful, patient, and detail-oriented
- Interested in 3D printing, tools, machines, or electronics
- Able to follow step-by-step instructions
- Willing to learn
- Reliable and organized
- Comfortable using small tools such as screwdrivers, cutters, pliers, hot glue gun, and possibly a soldering iron
Experience with any of the following is a plus, but not required:
- 3D printers
- OrcaSlicer, Cura, Bambu Studio, or similar slicing software
- PLA, PETG, or other 3D printing materials
- Basic wiring
- Heat-set inserts
- Small product assembly
- Arduino, ESP32, or electronics projects
Schedule
Flexible part-time hours.
Approximately 15 hours per week, depending on availability and production needs. Temp to Hire
This position is ideal for a high school senior, college student, trade school student, maker, engineering student, or someone interested in learning small-scale manufacturing.
Location
Work will be in person in the San Antonio area. Some tasks may be done independently after training.
Pay
Paid internship. Compensation based on experience.
About the Work
This role involves helping build and improve a small prototype/product made with 3D-printed parts, tubing, motors, wiring, and simple mechanical components.
The intern will get hands-on experience with real product assembly, troubleshooting, quality checks, and small-scale production
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
