About the Role:
Our organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to support financial reporting, month-end close, and general ledger accounting for a multi-entity organization. This role works closely with the CFO and Controller, along with the accounting team, to ensure accurate and timely financial information across multiple business locations.
This position is a good fit for an accounting professional who enjoys a variety of accounting work, is comfortable with month/year-end responsibilities, and is looking to build strong, long-term experience in corporate accounting.
Work Environment
This is an on-site role based in Columbia City, Indiana, approximately 20 minutes from Fort Wayne, working closely with the accounting team and senior leadership. The environment is collaborative and focused on accuracy and consistency in financial reporting. In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this role provides support for various benefits administration, compliance, and operational accounting functions as needed to support the organization's ongoing business requirements.

What We’re Looking For:
- 3–5 years of accounting experience (public experience preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Solid understanding of month-end close and general ledger accounting
- Experience with reconciliations and journal entries
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Experience with QuickBooks, or similar accounting software
- Ability to manage deadlines well
- Strong organizational skills, follow-through, and reliability
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Participate in month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare journal entries for assigned accounts and business areas
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances
- Support preparation of monthly financial reporting packages
- Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities
- Assist with intercompany accounting and reconciliations
- Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Support Functions (Accounting-Related Administration)
- Support payroll administration and payroll accounting through ADP Workforce Now
- Assist with employee benefits administration and related accounting entries
- Support 401(k) plan administration and related documentation
- Aid with insurance administration, renewals, and supporting documentation
- Support workers’ compensation tracking and audit documentation requests
- Collaborate in the preparation of tax-related documentation and preparation of year-end workpapers
- Assist with banking support functions, including reconciliations and reporting
- Provide support for vendor setup, invoice documentation, and contract file maintenance, when required.
- Maintain internal policy documentation tracking and administrative updates
- Additional duties and responsibilities based on business needs and organizational priorities.

Total Compensation:
- Compensation listed and based on skill and experience.
Pay: $62,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
Education:
Experience:
- Corporate accounting: 3 years (Required)
- Public accounting: 2 years (Required)
- Corporate Tax: 2 years (Preferred)
