Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions, including cash handling and cash drawer management
- Demonstrate products to customers, including product demos and explaining features to encourage upselling opportunities
- Maintain stock levels by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and merchandising products attractively
- Assist with inventory management, including stock checks and reporting low inventory levels
- Uphold store cleanliness and organization standards to ensure a safe and inviting environment
- Use effective phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support supervising staff in daily operations and ensure compliance with store policies
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments involving customer interaction
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math calculations required
- Proven ability to upsell products and promote store merchandise effectively
- Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse customer bases better
- Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on friendly, professional interactions
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and cash handling procedures
