We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team serving clients in the Woodlands, Spring, and Cypress areas. In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in our clinic and local ABA centers. Your expertise will help clients achieve their functional goals through tailored therapy interventions. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and improve quality of life
- Implement treatment plans designed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to prescribed goals and protocols
- Support pediatric occupational therapy programs focusing on childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder interventions
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals—including physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists—to optimize client outcomes
- Maintain comprehensive care documentation, update progress notes, and communicate effectively with caregivers and clients about treatment plans and progress
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and occupational therapy principles for diverse populations.
- Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder or childhood developmental delays
- Ability to assist with ADLs and perform manual handling safely in various clinical scenarios
- Excellent communication skills for caregiver engagement and client interaction to foster trust and understanding
- Familiarity with care plans development, treatment plan implementation, and documentation standards in inpatient or outpatient settings
