**High School Teacher** **Overview:**
Florida A&M University Developmental Research School (FAMU DRS) is seeking a dedicated Social Studies/History High School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in history, and a passion for instruction with the ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues. As a Social Studies/History Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the minds of young individuals and fostering a positive learning environment.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop engaging lesson plans in line with the school's curriculum and educational guidelines
- Implement effective teaching strategies to ensure student engagement and comprehension
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth
- Mentor and support students both academically and emotionally - Incorporate techniques to enhance students' writing skills
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methods and share best practices
- Stay updated on educational trends and implement new approaches in the classroom
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; Master's degree is a plus
- State teaching certification - Social Science or History
Proven experience as a High School Teacher or similar role
- Strong knowledge of and other writing styles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
