Job Summary
Georgia Pet Pal is hiring a reliable, animal-loving Pet Pal Pro to walk dogs and care for pets right in their own neighborhood. We're hiring specifically for these zip codes — 30101, 30102, 30188, and 30189 (the Kennesaw, Marietta, Acworth, and Woodstock area) — and you must live in one of them. You'll provide exercise, feeding, companionship, and attentive care to dogs and cats in their own homes while their owners are at work or away, keeping every pet happy, safe, and on routine. This is a paid, W‑2 position — a genuine chance to turn your love for animals into a dependable job close to home.
Pay & Perks
- With tips from happy pet parents, Pet Pal Pros average about $20/hour
- Mileage reimbursement at $0.50 per mile
- Your hours grow with you. This role starts part-time and builds over time — it takes a while to grow a client base in your area, and as it grows, your visits, hours, and earnings steadily increase. Getting in early means you're first in line as demand builds.
- W‑2 employment — a real job with a real team, not gig work
What You'll Do
- Walk dogs at a pace and distance suited to each pet's age, energy, and needs — real exercise and mental stimulation every time
- Complete drop-in care visits: feeding, fresh water, oral medication when needed, litter boxes, cleanup, and keeping each pet's routine
consistent
- Provide overnight sitting and extended-stay visits, giving pets steady company when their families travel
- Send pet parents real-time photo and video updates through the Georgia Pet Pal app after every visit
- Use the app's GPS route tracking on walks so owners can follow along
- Handle every dog and cat safely, using proper leashing and restraint to prevent injury or escape
- Keep clear, friendly communication with pet parents and the team about each pet's behavior, health, and anything that needs attention
- Watch for signs of illness, stress, or injury and report concerns promptly
What We're Looking For
- You must live in one of these zip codes: 30144, 30066, 30101, 30102, 30188, or 30189 (required)
- A genuine love for animals and a warm, dependable, professional attitude
- Experience caring for, handling, or pet-sitting dogs and cats — personal or professional
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license — visits take place at clients' homes
- A smartphone you're comfortable using for scheduling, check-ins, GPS tracking, and photo/video updates
- Strong communication and customer-service skills with both pet parents and teammates
- Comfort with safe animal handling, plus attention to detail and safety on every visit
- Ability to do light lifting (pet food and supplies) and stay active outdoors year-round
- Punctuality and follow-through — pet parents count on every visit happening on time
- A plus, not required: veterinary assistant/technician experience or comfort administering medication
