Position Overview
Power Atlanta is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality, patient-centered HIV prevention and treatment services through a virtual care platform. This 1099 contractor role centers on delivering telehealth visits for patients seeking PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis), and ongoing management of sexually transmitted infections, with the mission of reducing new HIV transmissions and connecting patients to affordable, sustainable care.
The ideal candidate is comfortable practicing independently within a collaborative framework, is passionate about sexual health and health equity, and can build trusting relationships with patients in a virtual setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct telehealth visits to evaluate, initiate, and manage patients on PrEP and PEP therapy for HIV prevention.
- Provide clinical management and follow-up for patients living with HIV, including monitoring, adherence support, and coordination of care.
- Order, review, and interpret laboratory testing for HIV, STIs, renal function, and other relevant screenings; adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with current CDC guidelines, evidence-based protocols, and the terms of the collaborative practice/physician agreement.
- Counsel patients on sexual health, risk reduction, medication adherence, and STI prevention in a nonjudgmental, culturally competent manner.
- Document all encounters accurately and promptly in the electronic health record, maintaining compliance with HIPAA and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with pharmacy partners to ensure timely medication fulfillment and continuity of therapy.
- Support the organization’s participation in the 340B Drug Pricing Program by adhering to compliant prescribing and documentation practices.
- Collaborate with the clinical and operations teams to improve patient outcomes, retention, and the overall care experience.
Pay: From $70.00 per hour
