Duties
- Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of public areas, hallways, stairwells, and service corridors to ensure they meet cleanliness standards.
- Handle chemical agents safely, following safety data sheets (SDS) and proper handling procedures for cleaning supplies.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support the housekeeping team with floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning using industrial cleaning equipment.
- Manage janitorial supplies inventory, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures diligently and respond promptly to any safety concerns or incidents.
- Maintain cleanliness in back-of-house areas, storage rooms, and equipment rooms to promote a safe and organized environment.
Requirements
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience within hospitality or industrial cleaning environments.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical agent handling, and floor care methods.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with hotel housekeeping management practices is preferred.
- Understanding of hotel emergency procedures and safety data sheets (SDS) for chemical products.
- Strong commitment to hospitality standards with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
