Job Summary
Boss Lady Logistics is a woman-owned Landstar freight agency and 3PL fulfillment operation in Mundelein, IL — 5x safety award winner, 99.2% on-time. We're hiring a Logistics Account Manager to own client relationships and keep freight moving right.
You'll manage key accounts day to day: quoting, scheduling, tracking, and problem-solving across truckload, expedited, heavy haul, temperature-controlled, intermodal, and international air/ocean freight. You'll work directly with the founder, and you'll have real ownership — not a script and a queue.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain strong client relationships — understand each shipper's supply chain needs and deliver logistics solutions that fit
- Manage day-to-day account activity: order processing, shipment scheduling, and tracking in our TMS
- Coordinate freight brokerage operations across ground, expedited, and international modes, balancing on-time delivery with cost efficiency
- Communicate with carriers and drivers to keep loads moving and clients informed before they have to ask
- Support pricing, quoting, and service agreements that keep accounts profitable and clients loyal
- Resolve issues fast — detention, reschedules, breakdowns, weather — and own the outcome
- Keep clean, accurate records: dispatching notes, data entry, contracts, and shipment documentation
Qualifications
- Proven account management experience in logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage (Landstar agency experience a plus)
- Working knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS); CRM experience helpful
- Strong B2B communication and negotiation skills — clear, fast, and professional under pressure
- Familiarity with multiple freight modes: truckload, LTL, expedited, intermodal, and 3PL fulfillment a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace for reporting and client communication
- Detail-obsessed and able to juggle multiple priorities without dropping any — pricing, dispatching, and data entry all done right the first time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
