Job Description
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who receive services through the Medicaid Waiver program. DSPs play a vital role in helping individuals live safely, independently, and meaningfully within their communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and supervision in accordance with each individual’s support plan
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, meal preparation, and hygiene as needed
- Support individuals with community integration, transportation, and recreational activities
- Implement skill-building goals such as independent living, social skills, and self-advocacy
- Administer or assist with medications as trained (if applicable)
- Maintain accurate documentation and service notes in compliance with Medicaid Waiver requirements
- Ensure health, safety, and dignity of all individuals served
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and support team members
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred (but not required)
- Ability to pass level 2 background check
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if transporting clients)
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to person-centered and respectful care
