"Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids in WESTON is seeking a friendly, reliable, and bilingual (English–Spanish) Salon Receptionist & Assistant to join our fun, family-focused team!
Possition: SATURDAY (9 am - 5 pm) AND SUNDAY (9 am - 4 pm)
ONLY WEEKENDS
This position plays a key role in ensuring every guest—especially our youngest clients—feels welcome, comfortable, and cared for from the moment they walk through our doors until the moment they leave with a smile."
As the first point of contact, you will help create a positive and memorable experience for children and parents alike while assisting with front desk operations and light salon support duties. “The ideal candidate is friendly, proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a kid-centered setting, if that sounds like you, this job is for you”

Warmly greet every guest with a smile and say, “Welcome to Sharkey’s!”
Ensure all clients feel welcome, comfortable, and communicated with throughout their visit.
Engage with children to make their visit fun and enjoyable.
Check in walk-in and appointment clients, confirm details, and manage salon flow efficiently.
Politely communicate wait times and appointment order to walk-in guests.
Confirm next-day appointments by phone.
Offer small tokens (lollipops, balloons, Dippin’ Dots) when appropriate to enhance guest satisfaction if a client is not happy for whatever reason (haircut quality, waiting time, miscommunication)
Front Desk & Administrative Duties
Arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled shift to prepare for the day.
Punctuality is essential—consistent tardiness or failure to arrive early as required may be considered a red flag in reliability and professionalism.
Open and balance the register; process all client payments accurately.
Track appointments and walk-ins, ensuring the schedule runs smoothly.
Salon Support
Support stylists by maintaining a tidy and well-stocked workspace.
Sweep and vacuum between clients, wipe chairs and stations.
Refill towels, capes, and supplies throughout the day.
Empty towel bins and take out trash weekly (preferably Sundays).
Assist with shampooing or children’s manicures when needed.
Cooperate with cleaning
Requirements
Bilingual (English–Spanish) — Required
Strong communication and customer service skills
Friendly, energetic, and professional demeanor
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, child-friendly environment
Reliability and punctuality are essential
Must be flexible to work extended or adjusted hours during peak and holiday seasons
