2nd Shift - Monday-Thursday 3:00pm - 1:00am
Position Description:
This position is responsible for machine set-up, mixing two- and three-part epoxies, urethanes and zinc paint coating systems and applies to industrial silos and parts. Records environmental readings during painting operations and apply required mil thicknesses as specified on product data sheets. Clean equipment and paint lines. Perform touch ups and blend paint coatings to provide uniform finish. A steady hand, natural motivation, positive attitude/aptitude and an outstanding attention to detail are recommended.
Responsibilities:
- Apply two- and three-part epoxies, urethanes and zinc paint coating systems to industrial silo’s and parts using proper equipment and techniques.
- Record environmental readings during painting operations and apply required mil thickness as specified on product data sheets.
- Assess painted surfaces to identify errors, and perform touch-ups to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Clean equipment and paint lines after paint system has been completed.
- Dispose of all hazardous materials in an appropriate manner.
- Maintain and repair all equipment and perform daily housekeeping.
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as respirator use, protective masks, and safety shoes.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment and overhead cranes.
- Monitor equipment for signs of wear or malfunction.
- Perform all other duties assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Previous automotive or manufacturing painting experience desirable.
- Must be able to wear a full-face respirator.
- Must have previous manufacturing experience.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic math skills, ability to read rulers and other basic measuring devices.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Maintain accurate work and good levels of concentration.
