Biorepository Coordinator I
The Tissue Core Facility at the Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join the Tissue Core Total Cancer Care Laboratory as a Biorepository Coordinator I.
Ideal Candidate:
- The Biorepository Coordinator should possess knowledge that will allow them to perform general laboratory techniques and follow established practices and protocols within the core facility.
- Performs assigned tasks and learns new procedures under minimal direction of senior staff.
- Candidate must demonstrate the ability to apply related concepts in broadly defined means with minimal guidance. Attends in-house courses, seminars, and workshops, related to core activities and cancer biology.
Responsibilities:
The Biorepository Coordinator I will be responsible for request management and support for the Tissue Core Total Cancer Care laboratory projects in the following ways:
- Biospecimen Preservation, Processing, and Distribution
- Stewardship and maintenance of the general specimen library
- Specimen labeling, handling, and packaging for shipment
- Documentation and inventory management in inventory system application
Credentials & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years laboratory experience in academic, industry, clinical, research, or veterinary lab is required (OR) Associate Degree in Biological Science or related field and 1 year laboratory experience in academic, industry, clinical, research, or veterinary lab is required (OR) BS Degree in Biological Science or related field + 0 years experience.
- Proficient use of Microsoft applications is necessary.
