The Money
You get paid per job, not per hour — and there's no ceiling.
$1,000/week guaranteed base just for being on call. Per-job bonuses kick in on top of that, plus weekly acceptance rate bonuses. We'll walk through the full structure in the interview — but here's what it looks like in practice: our techs running steady take home $1,200–$1,700/week. Top performers clear $2,500+.
Intermodal chassis work at the ramp runs on its own pay schedule, separate from roadside. It's a different kind of job and it pays differently — we'll walk you through both in the interview.
No shop. No clock to punch. You're not grinding 50-hour weeks under fluorescent lights for someone else's flat rate.
The Work
Dispatched through our 24/7 centralized dispatch to service major national fleet clients. Roadside and on-site diesel truck and trailer repairs — brake chambers, airlines, gladhands, water pumps, tires, air leak diagnosis, electrical troubleshooting, jump starts, and more. You get the call, roll to the site, fix the truck, move on. No shop. No service manager. No standing around.
The work is already here. Last month alone one of our national fleet clients had 78 breakdowns in this market that we couldn't take because we don't have a tech based in Birmingham yet. That's roughly 18 calls a week sitting on the table before we count the rest of our customer list. About four out of five of those are over-the-road — a driver down on the interstate or a trailer on the shoulder. The rest is intermodal chassis work at the ramp. We are hiring the first tech on the ground here, so you are not inheriting somebody else's leftovers and you are not waiting around for the phone to ring. You get first call on everything.
We need a strong tech based in the Birmingham metro — Birmingham, Bessemer, McCalla, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Irondale, Hueytown, Pelham, Alabaster, Helena, Trussville, Leeds, Moody, Fultondale, Gardendale or Pinson — who can cover the metro and the interstates running through it: I-20, I-65, I-59, I-459, I-22, US-11, US-31 and US-280. This is a metro job. You're home every night.
This is a 24/7 on-call role. You tell us when you're unavailable, and we work around it — we don't expect you to never sleep. But the more available you are, the more jobs you get, and the more you earn.
