The Boys & Girls Club of Ottawa County is seeking an energetic, organized, and passionate leader to serve as the Unit Director for our after-school program located inside Afton Public Schools.
This is more than a management position—it's an opportunity to build relationships with students, families, school staff, and the community while creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment where young people can thrive.

What You'll Do
As the Afton Unit Director, you'll oversee the daily operations of our school-based Club and work closely with Afton Public Schools to provide a high-quality after-school experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead daily after-school operations and programming
- Supervise, coach, and develop Club staff
- Build strong relationships with school administrators, teachers, parents, and community partners
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for youth
- Plan engaging programs focused on academics, leadership, healthy lifestyles, recreation, and the arts
- Manage membership, attendance, reporting, and program documentation
- Maintain Club facilities, supplies, and equipment
- Help recruit and retain Club members
- Support special events, family engagement activities, and community partnerships

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Experience working with youth in education, childcare, recreation, or youth development
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to motivate staff and create a positive team culture
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
