Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical activity, and social-emotional development for toddlers
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence
- Engage children in hands-on activities that support their cognitive, motor, and language skills
- Manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns
- Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure child safety and welfare at all times
- Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, developmental assessments, and daily activities
Requirements
- Experience working with children in early childhood or preschool settings, especially with toddlers
- Knowledge of child development principles, childhood education best practices, and classroom management strategies
- Familiarity with curriculum development, literacy education, and preschool teaching methodologies
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; knowledge of special education or early intervention is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and administrators
- Ability to adhere to mandated reporting laws and uphold child welfare standards
- Prior classroom experience in private or preschool environments is preferred
- Passion for early childhood education with a focus on toddler care and development
