Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to ensure food safety and sanitation compliance
- Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting improvements and new dish ideas based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Follow all safety protocols related to knife skills, cooking techniques, and equipment use to promote a safe working environment
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a related role within restaurants or the food industry
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Familiarity with catering services and serving in a fast-paced setting
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
