In this role, you will be the backbone of our kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are impeccably cleaned and sanitized. You will also play a vital role in preparing fresh oysters and other seafood delicacies, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Duties
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen tools to ensure cleanliness and readiness for service
- Prepare oysters by shucking them carefully and safely, following proper techniques to preserve freshness and presentation
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, portioning, and assembling ingredients for menu items
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
- Support catering events or banquet setups by providing clean dishware and assisting with light food handling tasks
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper handling procedures at all times
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to support smooth service flow during busy hours
Skills
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food handling safety protocols and sanitation procedures
- Ability to shuck oysters efficiently while maintaining safety standards
- Strong attention to detail in cleaning and food prep tasks
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude in high-pressure situations
- Familiarity with catering or banquet experience is a plus
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations including bussing, cooking support, and general food preparation
