Job Summary
Kudzu Staffing is seeking a skilled Pipefitter Pipe Welder to join our construction and manufacturing team. This role involves fabricating, installing, and maintaining piping systems across various industrial and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in welding techniques, pipe fitting, blueprint reading, and mechanical assembly to ensure the safe and efficient operation of piping infrastructure. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that demand precision, technical knowledge, and adherence to industry standards.
Duties
- Read and interpret detailed schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately assemble piping systems.
- Perform welding operations using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and other industry-standard methods in compliance with ASME codes & standards.
- Fit, cut, thread, solder, and bend pipes made from different materials to specifications.
- Install fire sprinkler systems, HVAC piping, pipeline networks, and plumbing fixtures on construction sites or manufacturing facilities.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and rigging equipment to prepare materials for assembly.
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of piping infrastructure to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with complex systems involving high-pressure fluids or gases.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and adhere to all relevant industry standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding, soldering, and pipe welding specific to <LOCATION> standards.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams with precision.
- Mechanical knowledge of pipe threading, tube bending, assembly techniques, and system maintenance.
- Experience working with construction sites or manufacturing environments involving pipeline installation or repair.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards governing pressure vessels and piping systems.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, rigging equipment, and schematics for precise fabrication.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe fitting dimensions.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, fire sprinkler fitting, plumbing installation, and schematic interpretation.
- Ability to work safely with high-pressure systems while adhering to OSHA regulations.
- Strong teamwork skills complemented by excellent communication abilities. This position is integral to the successful completion of complex piping projects across multiple industries.
