Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
- Following care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Support clients with personal transportation for appointments, errands, or social activities to promote community engagement.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Document care activities meticulously in accordance with agency policies and communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Strong background in patient observation, dementia or Alzheimer's care.
- Knowledge of care plans, HIPAA compliance, manual handling techniques including Hoyer lifts, and emergency procedures such as CPR and first aid.
- Ability to assist with ADLs efficiently while demonstrating compassion and patience for clients with complex needs.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members while maintaining professionalism.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and patient transfer methods required for safe caregiving practices.
