Job Overview
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician will perform a wide range of general building maintenance and repair duties across our property portfolio. This role is hands-on and requires a reliable, detail-oriented individual who can work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
Duties
- Perform general maintenance tasks including interior and exterior cleaning, debris removal, carpet cleaning, painting, sheetrock repair, woodworking, window repair, and minor electrical work
- Replace locks, light bulbs, and other basic fixtures as needed
- Clear walkways, entrances, and doorways of debris and potential hazards
- Service heating and plumbing systems, including changing filters, preventing leaks, and unclogging sinks and toilets
- Identify major repairs or upgrades needed for lighting, heating, and ventilation systems and communicate findings to the Property Facilities Manager
- Ensure all safety systems (carbon monoxide detectors, fire/smoke detectors, alarm systems, and locking mechanisms) are fully operational at all times
- Prepare vacant units in a timely and efficient manner for new occupancy
- Evaluate and identify potential safety risks to property and individuals; report concerns to supervisor before beginning work
- Assist with weekly fire pump testing and other required safety inspections
Requirements
- Previous maintenance, handyman, or general repair experience
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Reliable transportation
Preferred
- Experience in residential, commercial, or property maintenance
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor repair issues efficiently
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
