For more than 125 years, Shannopin Country Club has served the North Hills community of Pittsburgh as an exceptional family-oriented country club and golf course. We are located in the heart of Ben Avon Heights, Pennsylvania, about 10 minutes North of Downtown Pittsburgh.
Job Description
We are looking for a hard‑working, energetic, personable Food and Beverage Server for our members-only, fine dining restaurant. The ideal candidate will be a communicative, positive, and professional individual with a strong passion for hospitality and creating impeccable customer experiences. The candidate should be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and ready to work, with a positive drive to succeed.
The position is part‑time. Candidates must have prior experience as a server (prior experience as a bartender is a plus!). Candidates must also possess basic bar knowledge, including familiarity with beer, wine, and spirits and be comfortable making suggestions on wines and cocktails or properly serving wine table‑side. We are looking for someone with flexibility in his or her schedule to work weekday and weekend shifts, daytime and evening shifts, and some holidays.
Skills:
- Proven customer service and work experience as a server
- Food and beverage knowledge, with the ability to recall ingredients and describe and suggest dishes and beverages, including beers, wines, and cocktails
- Be comfortable serving food and beverage, including wine service, in a timely professional manner
- Familiarity with restaurant software (prior experience with Northstar is a plus!)
- Strong time management, motivational, and people skills
- Be dependable and ready to work
- Demonstrate a teamwork attitude and willingness to help others
Additional Job Requirements:
- Able to stand or be in motion for 5 to 8 hours
- Lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Climb stairs or navigate different surface levels while carrying items
- Have reliable transportation (public transportation does not service this location)
- Work daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays (our days and hours of operation are typically Tuesday through Sunday, 11 am to 9 pm)
- RAMP certified (cost reimbursement if not already RAMP certified)
- Be at least 18 years old with the ability to serve alcohol
