Novus Technical Services USA is seeking a motivated and experienced Buyer/Purchaser to support commercial and industrial construction projects by coordinating the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required to meet project schedules and operational needs. This role is responsible for ensuring purchases are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining alignment with established project procurement budgets.
The Buyer/Purchaser will work closely with Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, Construction, and other project teams to source materials and equipment, review vendor bids, monitor deliveries, and maintain accurate procurement documentation. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple procurement activities and deadlines.

- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred

Minimum of 4 years of experience in purchasing, buying, procurement, or a related role

Experience supporting procurement activities within commercial, industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or construction environments preferred

Strong understanding of procurement processes, purchasing procedures, vendor management, and project budgets

Ability to review vendor quotations and bids and assist with commercial bid analysis

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word

Ability to maintain accurate purchasing, vendor, and procurement documentation

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, contractors, project management, and internal operations teams

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

This is a safety-sensitive position; the candidate must complete and pass a background check and a ten-panel drug/alcohol screening.
- Purchase materials and equipment required to support project schedules and operational requirements

Review project procurement budgets and allocations to obtain the best possible value when purchasing materials and equipment

Assist with the preparation, development, and issuance of project procurement plans

Solicit, review, and evaluate supplier and vendor quotations and bids

Prepare and assist with commercial bid analysis documentation

Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, delivery schedules, and purchasing requirements

Expedite materials and equipment when necessary to prevent delays to project schedules

Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers and vendors regarding order status and delivery dates

Ensure supplier and vendor payment terms comply with approved project payment terms

Review supplier and vendor documentation to ensure compliance with Novus, project, and customer requirements prior to formal issuance

Maintain accurate procurement records, purchasing documentation, and vendor information

Coordinate with Project Managers, Procurement Managers, Engineering, Project Controls, Construction, Commissioning, and other project personnel regarding material and equipment requirements

Communicate with client representatives, contractors, suppliers, vendors, and consultants as required

Follow up and assist with resolving damaged, missing, incorrect, or delayed equipment and material deliveries

Verify purchasing requirements, specifications, quantities, and scope prior to placing orders

Monitor procurement activities and provide appropriate follow-up to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met

Assist and provide guidance to junior procurement personnel when required

Maintain company safety and quality standards in accordance with Novus policies and procedures

Perform other duties as assigned
Employees are required to work the project schedule, which is currently 10 hours Monday through Friday, plus 8 hours on Saturdays, and will be compensated in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines.
