About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Lead Installer – Audio Video, Lighting & Shade Systems to oversee residential Smart Home projects from kickoff through completion. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal teams while also remaining actively involved in field installations, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
The ideal candidate combines strong project management skills with hands-on experience installing and supporting custom integration systems, including audio/video, networking, lighting control, motorized shades, and home automation.
Responsibilities
- Assist with managing projects from proposal approval through final completion and customer sign-off.
- Serve as the on-site client contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate schedules and logistics of installation teams.
- Collaborate with builders, electricians, designers, architects, and other trades to ensure project success.
- Track project progress, labor hours, budgets, and documentation.
- Perform hands-on installation, system setup, commissioning, programming support, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Conduct site surveys, verify project requirements, and review plans and specifications.
- Lead project closeout, customer training, punch-list resolution, and final system turnover.
- Maintain clear communication with customers, team members, and company leadership.
- Perform installation as needed to complete projects with team.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in custom integration, AV installation, home automation, or related low-voltage systems.
- Experience managing residential or commercial technology projects.
- Strong knowledge of audio/video, lighting control, motorized shades, networking, and control systems.
- Preferred Finish Carpentry skills and knowledge of electrical systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, perform site surveys, and coordinate with construction trades.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and project documentation tools.
- Eligible to qualify for a California C-7 Low Voltage Contractor license based on experience.
- Fluent English (required)

Requirements
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift equipment, work on ladders, and perform installation work in construction environments.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
