SUMMARY: Assists Production Scheduling/Steel Purchasing with compiling data pertinent to manufacture of special products for customers by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following (other duties may be assigned):
· Input all chemical and physical certifications on raw material from vendors.
· Schedule Finishing Department, create and print schedule.
· Create rework orders and schedule.
· File completed shop orders.
· Audit inventories for count and compliance of products to specified requirements.
· Research and control inventory and retag as needed.
· Review inventory for possible tube that can be applied to orders in the Mill schedule/new orders.
· Check shop orders daily to make sure they are closed properly.
· Check overage/shortages daily on closed jobs.
· Verify any tags turned in are dead-filed and “I” status slit are taken out of inspection hold.
· Maintain spreadsheets for WIP on the floor to make sure company is covered on orders for Sales Department.
On occasion the Production Scheduling Assistant will:
· Assist with the creation and input of steel purchase orders.
· Prepare spreadsheets based on MRP structure to assist in ordering raw material for production from vendors.
· Create all Material Master Numbers and bills of material for raw material and slit widths.
· Enter all raw material receiving, moves coils from Eagle Pass and Laredo as needed, and change location with movement of such.
· Process invoices for incoming/received steel.
· Schedule Mills by reviewing orders and setup new set ups, adjusts dates. Set up run hours and print shop orders. Print Mill schedule.
· Acknowledge and promise all outside orders, review inventory for possible tube that can be applied to those orders.
· Build calendar in calendar maintenance for Mills.
· Check steel requirements for millruns. Create set ups, orders, promise orders and print shop orders for Slitter.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school graduate; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office programs.
Pay: From $20.96 per hour
