We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Store Cashier. The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing purchases, handling payments, and helping maintain a clean, organized checkout area. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet customers with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Accurately scan and process customer purchases.
- Handle cash, credit, debit, and other forms of payment.
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer and balance at the end of each shift.
- Assist customers by answering questions and directing them to products.
- Bag groceries carefully and efficiently.
- Keep checkout lanes clean, stocked, and organized.
- Restock impulse items and shopping bags as needed.
- Assist with stocking shelves, facing merchandise, and cleaning during slower periods.
- Follow all company policies regarding safety, food handling, and loss prevention.
- Work collaboratively with team members.
Qualifications
- Must be atleast 18 years of age.
- Previous cashier or retail experience is a plus but not required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
