Primary Responsibilities:
- Check out patients following provider visits
- Schedule follow-up appointments and diagnostic testing
- Answer and manage high-volume, multi-line telephone system
- Process referrals and obtain necessary authorizations
- Send imaging and testing orders to hospitals and imaging facilities
- Coordinate appointments for pulmonary testing, sleep studies, CT scans, and other procedures
- Review provider schedules and assist with appointment management
- Communicate with patients regarding appointments, testing, and referrals
- Verify insurance information and update patient demographics as needed
- Process appointment cancellations and reschedules
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Manage incoming faxes and scheduling-related communications
- Work closely with providers, clinical staff, hospitals, and referring offices
Qualifications:
- Previous medical office or scheduling experience preferred
- Excellent customer service and telephone skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with EMR systems preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and referrals is a plus
- Reliable attendance and professionalism required
Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
