Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and diesel-powered equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and electrical components across various heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and shock & strut replacements to maximize equipment lifespan.
- Fabricate and modify parts using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and schematics to meet specific operational needs.
- Troubleshoot complex issues on excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailer trucks, and other industrial or farm machinery.
- Follow safety protocols during all repair activities and maintain a clean work environment to prevent accidents or hazards.
- Use technical manuals and schematics to accurately diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
- Assist with assembly and disassembly of equipment components during repairs or upgrades to ensure proper function.
Skills
- Proven experience working with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and trailer trucks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspension components, and electrical diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; ability to read schematics accurately.
- Familiarity with automotive repair practices including brake repair, tire service, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently.
- Customer service orientation with clear communication skills for collaborating with team members or clients when needed. Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
