We are building a premium cycling destination in New York and are looking for ambitious, passionate and experienced leaders to join our founding team as Captains. This is not a traditional retail management role. We are looking for leaders who love cycling, thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy developing people, and are passionate about delivering exceptional rider experiences. The Role
As a Captain, you will be a key leader within Bottega responsible for developing people, leading the sales floor, delivering exceptional rider experiences and maintaining the standards that define our brand. You will spend the majority of your time alongside the team, coaching in real time, supporting riders, driving commercial performance and creating an environment where both riders and team members can thrive. This role combines leadership, sales, service, coaching, merchandising and community engagement. We are looking for leaders who lead from the front.
What You'll Do
Lead the Sales Floor
- Create energy, momentum and focus throughout the day
- Lead rider consultations and premium bicycle sales conversations
- Support custom bike builds and rider journeys
- Coach Rider Advisors through discovery, sizing, fit and product recommendations
- Drive commercial performance through exceptional service
- Lead by example during every rider interaction
Deliver Industry-Leading Rider Experiences
- Create memorable rider experiences
- Build trust through expertise and authenticity
- Support riders from initial consultation through delivery and ownership
- Resolve rider concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Champion a premium hospitality mindset
Develop People
- Coach, mentor and develop team members
- Provide timely feedback and recognition
- Support onboarding and training
- Build confidence and capability within the team
- Create a culture of accountability, learning and continuous improvement
Maintain Brand Standards
- Ensure exceptional showroom presentation
- Support visual merchandising and product storytelling
- Execute product launches and seasonal updates
- Maintain premium retail standards at all times
Build Community
- Support events, group rides and community initiatives
- Strengthen relationships with riders and local partners
- Help establish Bottega as a destination for the cycling community

Experience & Skills
Preferred experience includes:
- Retail leadership experience
- Sales leadership experience
- Premium customer service experience
- Coaching and people development
- Visual merchandising and retail standards
- Commercial performance management
- Product knowledge within cycling, sporting goods or premium retail
Cycling industry experience would be your most valuable skill, but we are equally interested in exceptional leaders from premium retail, hospitality and service environments.

Part-time and full-time positions are available, the hourly rate would range from $29 to $31 per hour
