JOB GOAL: To provide a safe and stimulating environment for children. Supports the lead teacher in conducting individual and group activities to encourage learning and develop social interaction skills. Prepares and/or serves children's meals.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be 18 years old
-
2 years classroom experience preferred
-
Have basic training in caring for young children
-
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions from the director

Be available and willing to work 3-6 PM Mon-Fri with additional hours on elementary half days or no school days
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review learning material with students, either individually or in small groups to help reinforce lessons presented by lead teachers

Supervise students in class, during lunch hour, playtime or recess, and at special events

Aid in teaching appropriate behavior and social skills to students

Assist in enforcing school and classroom rules

Assist with record keeping, such as attendance records, student progress notes and grades

Help teachers prepare for lessons by assembling materials and equipment

Provide personal aid and care as necessary to students, such as helping with hygiene, eating, or toileting

Follow all licensing guidelines

Pursue and attend professional development opportunities

Build trusting relationships and bond with the children in your care
