JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, the Sales Development Representative is responsible for lead generation and moving leads through the sales pipeline and some marketing functions. This role will spend much of their time looking for potential leads with outbound prospecting, which involves making cold calls and sending cold emails. Then, the person will determine if the prospect should move through the sales pipeline and become a qualified lead for the sales team. The Sales Development Representative will find out if our product/services matches the prospect’s budget, needs and timing. If the prospect qualifies, the Sales Development Representative will pass them on to the correct designated account manager to continue the sale and close the deal. This role needs to be prepared to learn deep product and service knowledge. They use this knowledge to understand how our product/services can solve our potential new customer’s problems and accurately assess high-quality leads.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Able to work independently and is very comfortable utilizing technology to research, find and enter leads into the pipeline
- An excellent communicator that is comfortable reaching out electronically, by phone and possibly in person to qualify sales leads in the early stages of the pipeline
- Contribute to increased sales by playing a vital role in identifying qualified leads, nurturing them and building a successful sales strategy when handing leads off to account managers.
- Responsible for filling the early pipeline stages to the appropriate levels and qualifying the planned $amount of leads to handoff to account managers.
- Follow up on leads daily ensuring the pipeline health and accuracy.
- Build email campaigns reaching our specific customer targets that drive an increase in qualified leads.
- Deeply understand the training of product/service offering we provide ensuring successful delivery of our value proposition and solutions we can bring to the potential customers.
- Build and lead high-performance, cross-functional sales team to consistently exceed targets through increased account penetration and loyalty.
- Perform various marketing duties such as build content for newsletters, sales collateral, email campaigns in our CRM, provide social media direction and physical marketing campaigns to prospect for new business
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Able to conduct strategic online research, utilize lead generation software and pipeline software that the selected candidate will be trained on
- Good at time management and organization
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong math, data entry skills and analytical thinker.
- Very strong computer software (Microsoft Suite, etc.) abilities as well as learning software programs quickly

- Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around and office environment
