Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care for a variety of animals, ensuring their health and well-being in a safe and nurturing environment. This role requires a strong understanding of animal behavior, anatomy, and care practices. The Animal Caretaker will work closely with veterinary staff to support the medical needs of the animals in our facility. Looking for more of evenings for dogs, 12-8 or 2-8, Also looking for fulltime and part time for cats, 7 am - 2 pm
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Administer medications as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Maintain clean and safe living environments for all animals.
- Assist with laboratory tasks as needed, including sample collection and handling.
- Utilize aseptic techniques when required to prevent contamination.
- Support equine care when applicable, including feeding, grooming, and exercise routines.
- Document animal care activities accurately in records.
- Educate visitors about animal care practices and facility protocols.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and veterinary terminology.
- Proficient in medication administration and understanding of treatment protocols.
- Excellent observational skills to monitor animal behavior and health.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with team members and the public.
